Walking in an empty abandoned building. Boots echo thru the open space. The pump of my heart and the rush of my blood. Expanse of quiet vacant solitude. The dank smell of musty mildew, water damage, and dusty dry wood. Can there be anything more beautiful? More terrifying? More thrilling? More peaceful? What is now still was once thriving. Held moving breathing bodies of life and what was. I imagine laughter and slamming doors. I feel a slight presence. See traces of the past. Crawl out the window I came in. Blinded by the sun. Walk back into the everyday.
